Anniversary Surprise (about 3 months early!)

Yesterday C wanted to go to Target. We go pretty much every week, so that was no surprise. When we got there, though, he pointed out to me that the iPods were on sale, and he said that now that it is spring, I'll be going on more and more walks. That means I'll be listening to more music. I have an MP3 player, a very small one that doesn't hold a lot. That's what I originally wanted because it was inexpensive and I was afraid I'd lose or damage it. But it's held up so well for more than a year that he thought it was time to step up. So I got to pick out my very own iPod 8 gb nano in green! I can put ALL my music on there instead of having to rotate all the time, and I'll have space to download Car Talk and store a couple of Weird Al videos. It is so cute, and it's fun because I can put all my music in with the album covers and then flip through my little library to pick out a song (or just to amuse myself with the covers!). C has an older (but MUCH bigger) iPod that his mom gave him for Xmas a couple years ago, and now he's jealous about that little feature. He has album covers, but he can't flip through 'em.

Anyway, when we were taking it home, C said, "This is your...uh...summer gift." He doesn't always do much for "manufactured events," like Valentine's day. He'd rather just get a gift at a random time and then make up a reason for it.

"I know," I said. "It's my anniversary present."

"Perfect! Happy anniversary a little early!"

Now I just have to get over my anxiety that I will accidentally hurt my new toy. Last night I dreamed that it somehow got infested with snails! I doubt that snail infestation is a common problem for iPods, but I'll keep an eye out for it anyway, just in case.

Snails, huh?

Congrads on your new toy - I have the same concern with mine, I often don't take it places because I am afraid I might damage it - I have the problem more with my camera though!
